About MedData®
A Company History
In 1997 MedData was formed as a division of AGDATA, Inc. to serve clients across the Southeast to solve the growing problem of managing the referral and authorization process. MedData continued to respond to the needs of its clients by developing additional transaction processing capabilities around eligibility verification and claim status inquiry. Founders of the company saw firsthand the frustration of trying to obtain health insurance benefits information and process other transactions for the multitude of carriers that were in the marketplace. As an early pioneer in electronic healthcare transactions, MedData recognized the critical need to develop a system designed to meet several objectives:
- Simplifying healthcare providers access to insurance information
- Streamlining medical front office operations
- Reducing the administrative costs of delivering healthcare
In June 2005, MedData purchased the assets of Sacramento, California based Insurance Benefit Spot Check, Inc. to further expand the depth and breadth of the service offerings.
MedData Today
MedData is the healthcare division of an international data management company, AGDATA® L.P. (www.agdatacompanies.com) , with 20 plus years experience in specialized data management services. MedData processes transactions for over 400 payers across the U.S. In the state of California, MedData, via its acquistions of Spotcheck and Diversified Data Design is the premier electronic healthcare transaction network, providing services ranging from eligiblity verification and fee-for service processing to encounter processing and P4P data aggregation services . We continue to expand our services with the recent addition of healthcare analytics services for payers, providers and other healthcare stakeholders via ManagedCare.com
Within our real-time suite of services, MedData blends our data management expertise with web development technology to automate critical healthcare transactions. Our Internet and Point of Sale (POS) terminal transaction systems contain embedded intelligence regarding payer-specific rules, unique by plan. Providers, hospitals and billing services and partners have a variety of means to quickly and accurately complete transactions. We offer a number of automated and integrated transaction processing solutions for hospitals, clinics, vendors and payers.
